A Basket Full of Color to Chase Away the Winter Blues

nep Our Christmas items will gradually be coming down as the listings expire on Etsy. They will reappear in the fall, but for now they will be packed away. The bleak January days left me craving something colorful and fun, so I searched through my fabric supplies and created a new collection of clutch balls. As you can see there's lots of yellow. I must b missing the sun.
i hope everyone saw the Facebook post of my grandnephew enjoying his clutchball. His cousin Amira, who is much older (2 1/2 months older) has been starting to reach for and pick up her ball. The clutch ball is light, and of course, easy for a tiny hand to grasp.
These clutch balls will soon be available in our Etsy shop. If you have a little one in your life visit our shop and check them out. The proceeds from the sale of this item go to the family shelter in Frederick. While you are there, check out the other baby items available. A clutch ball and an iSpy blanket make a great gift package to welcome a new arrival.
We are looking forward to the coming year. Now that we have officially obtained our official nonprofit status we are ready to grow. Do you or anyone you know create hand crafted items and want to raise money for a charity? If so, use our contact form on this site. We'd be happy to discuss any ideas you may have.

As the New Year begins, we are pleased to announce that A Cause for Crafting is now officially recognized as a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization.
What does that mean?
1. We can now offer our crafters a tax deduction for the items sold on our site. (Yeah!)
2. Better deals for bank fees and the like. (Yeah!)
3. Of course, we are now tax exempt.
4. Accountability.  This is something we welcome because we believe strongly in openness and honesty.  We want both our crafters and customers to be able to trust us implicitly.
Thanks to all of our customers and craftspersons who have believed in us as we took our first tentative steps on this journey.  We've learned a lot during our first year and plan to use what we have learned to grow and improve.   We look forward to welcoming new friends, both craftpersons and customers, as we begin our second year, doing a little bit of good, one lovingly crafted item at a time.
