![]() Don't you hate it when you lose your place because your bookmark slipped out from between the pages. We think we have the solution, a pretty butterfly ribbon bookmark, secured with an elastic loop and a button. It took a few tries to perfect the design, but we think we have the right balance of form and function. Buy one for yourself or for the book lover in your life. Click on the Etsy store link to see more. The proceeds from this item benefit the St Vincent de Paul Society whose mission is to give a helping hand to the poor. We are working on variations of this design so more bookmarks should be showing up in our Etsy shop.

Our crafter Jen contributed two items to our site. By the time we got the second item, a Discovery Block, posted in our Etsy store, the first item she gave us was sold. Jen plans to make more of the blankets and they should be available in about a month. Meanwhile we do have this soft little block designed to engage the senses. The block is 4 inches along each edge and each brightly colored side has a different texture. And it jingles! If you like our site and our mission, please continue to continue to check our shopping guide and our Etsy store from time to time. If you have been waiting for items that are appropriate for adults and older children, stay posted. New items are in the works. Thanks for visiting our site! ![]() I spy with my little eye, something that is our newest offering on "A Cause for Crafting." Jen, the latest crafter to join our site, designed these "iSpy" blankets for her daughter. Jen wanted something entertaining, cuddly, and that could be tossed into the diaper bag. We think this blanket meets those requirements perfectly. The blanket with its colorful patterned squares and tags along the edges would be interesting to a toddler without a word being said, but this blanket was meant for a rousing game of "iSpy." It would be hard to exhaust all the "I spy" possibilities... a cat, a whale, something with two wheels, the letter "g," a four-leaf clover, a heart. The back is soft flannel, it folds into a small muslin bag, and it can be popped in the washer. In keeping with the interactive theme of this blanket, the charity that will benefit from the sale of this is the Nurse-Family Partnership, a highly rated program helping first time, low income women become effective parents . Welcome Jen! And thanks for the blanket! Is it true that organizing your possessions can bring about inner peace? At A Cause for Crafting we are still contemplating that one. We do know that improving our site can make shopping more efficient and pleasant for our friends. Our latest improvement is a "Shopping Guide" tab. Our new Shopping Guide gives a quick overview of the types of items available. The items listed in our shopping guide are linked to the appropriate section of our Etsy store. Click and you are there. Take a look at the variations we have available, read the more detailed description, and when you are ready to make a purchase place the item in your Etsy shopping cart. Simple. Then pat yourself on the back for contributing to a good cause.
Keep checking our blog for the latest news. We have two new items that will be in our Etsy store soon. (Hint: They are in the bag.) In addition to these items we have others on the way. ![]() I was at the post office sending off a headband, discussing proper postage with the clerk, when I realized the cost was exactly two Forever Stamps. When I arrived back home I noticed there were two pads of Forever Stamps sitting next to my computer. "Humph!" I thought, "two pads...twenty stamps...ten butterflies...why not? Butterflies will ship free...cards...headbands...even the snoods...any item from A Cause for Crafting with a butterfly. Let the butterflies flutter off to their new home unimpeded by pesky shipping costs." It seems fitting. The butterfly is such a beautiful symbol of change and new beginnings and isn't that what we are about. So.... If you find it in our Etsy store (just click link on this website) and it has a butterfly on it, it will ship for free. P.S. A new item with a butterfly will be added over the next few days. ![]() These butterflies have a fighting spirit. Each butterfly sports headband raises twelve dollars for the National Brain Tumor Society. These newly designed headbands combine my gray headbands for brain cancer with Jackie's colorful crochet butterflies. They wash well and add a bit of color to your workout. The headbands are all gray but the butterflies are available in array of colors. If you order one on the Etsy site make sure you tell us which color you would like. Keep checking out this blog and our Etsy store. New products are on their way. |
