Bear is Dreaming of Medals

I've been so excited about the Pink Ribbon 5K tomorrow I can hardly sleep, but when I do, I've been dreaming of winning a medal.  In my dream I'm stepping up to accept first place in my division - stuffed bears ages 30 to 40 years.  Bearfriend reminds me though, that it's not about the medal.  It's about all of us coming together, running, walking, or cheering. It's about victories in the fight against cancer that we are helping to achieve.    She's right.   The biggest prize I can receive tomorrow is knowing I've helped to fight breast cancer.
I'll be at Baker Park ready for the race tomorrow (rain or shine or cloudy).  Come by to see me and purchase your headband.  I'd love to meet my fans.

It's not winter yet but these mini sweater ornaments bring thoughts of relaxing near the Christmas tree with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate.   That's an appropriate image because these little sweaters are raising funds to promote literacy for children and their families.
The sweaters are sold in sets of four and if you visit our Etsy shop you can see them rendered in other color combinations.  Click on the picture to visit our Etsy shop and see them all.

You've just spotted it on Facebook.  Your friend or relative just announced the good news.  You know what to do next.  Like their post, select appropriate Emoji, and then go to our Etsy store to order a clutch ball or an iSpy blanket.
What better way to welcome a new little one.  Safe, colorful, attractive, developmentally appropriate, and a gift that gives twice. These purchases generate funds for a family shelter and the Nurse Family Partnership.   We can ship the clutch ball or blanket to you or directly to the recipient.  It comes in an attractive muslin bag and we will gladly include a personal note from you.

I don't mean to brag but yours truly, Smashed Nose Bear has been kickin' it during my training runs.  All it took was finding the right running partner.  Despite my short little stuffed legs I've been clocking some decent times.  I'm feeling pumped and ready for the Pink Ribbon 5K on October 1st.
I know I'll bee looking good on race day because I'll be wearing my Cause for Crafting sports headband - no bear sweat in my eyes.  Get your own headband at our Etsy shop.  Just click on the picture.  Remember proceeds benefit the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund.
Now to work on my dance moves for October 8th.  Not only can this bear run, this bear can dance!

You Can't Have This Bag, but...

This my go-to bag.  I've had it for about six years and I use it for everything.  I use it to grocery shop.  I use it to take packages to the post office and books home from the library.  I've taken it on car trips and on a plane.  I walk around the house with my bag and gather the toys my grandchildren have dispersed.  When I go to the farmers market and decide I must bring home a melon as well as potatoes and several zucchini this bag is up to the task.  And when it gets a bit funky, I throw it in the wash.  So, you can't have this bag but you can have one like it.
We are proudly introducing bags made by our crafter, Carolyn.  The colors and fabric patterns are different but otherwise they are the same roomy, sturdy bag I own.  The charity receiving the money generated by the sale of these bags is the House of Ruth MD.  The House of Ruth works to address the problem of intimate partner violence providing shelter, services, advocacy, and education.   Their most recent shelter has and on-site health clinic run by the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.

Last Day for Early Registration

This bear can sniff out a good deal like she can sniff out a jar of honey.  When I realized this was the last day for early registration I hopped on the computer and sent in my registration.  I saved five dollars!  While I was online it was the perfect time to make a quick visit to the Cause for Crafting Etsy shop and order a breast cancer awareness headband for my human friend.  She'll love wearing it at the 5K.  It's so comfy and practical.  With the five dollars I saved on the race the headband will cost only three dollars and will be shipped to my den in time for the race.  What's even better is that those headbands are donated so the proceeds will go to the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund.    That's a deal that's almost as sweet as a jar of honey.
Click on my picture to link to the Cause for Crafting Etsy Shop to get your headbands delivered to your door before the 5K!  Free Shipping too!

I'm in for the Whole Ten Yards - and the 5K

"Hey Smashednose Bear, that's a real mountain of fabric your standing on. "
"You bet it is, bearfriend.  This is what ten yards of stretchy pink knit fabric looks like.  One of my human friends went a bit crazy and bought ten yards of fabric.  That's enough to make and donate 160 more headbands.  We already have forty made so that's a total of 200 headbands.  Think of all the funds we can raise to fight breast cancer if we sell all 200 headbands."
"That would be wonderful Smashednose Bear.  I would be so proud of you if you helped our human friends sell 200 headbands."
Help Smashed Nose Bear reach her goal of selling 200 sports headbands.  To purchase a headband before the race go to our Etsy Shop.  Click on our picture to get there and then place the headband of your choice, awareness ribbon or butterfly, into your shopping cart.
